Great food, great beer, you are crazy if you don’t stop here. RVs and big rigs can park across the road. Beautiful garden in the back.

Great food and ambience! Ask to sit outside in the garden patio, great for kids because there are yard games. Salmon plate and the climber’s burger were awesome! Great local beer and wine list; too!

We stopped at the Up River Grill & Taproom in Marblemount, WA after visiting nearby North Cascades National Park. Before stopping, we had checked out the menu online and had both decided on burgers. This is a very cozy feeling restaurant with a rustic decor that offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose indoor having gotten enough fresh air following six hours in the park. For starters, I picked a local beer, Up River Amber Ale from Skookum Brewery, and my wife chose the Chocolate Expresso vodka martini. It was so good, she had two. I was driving so I stuck to one beer. We both ordered burgers. Mind was the Mushroom Swiss with fries, and she chose the Up River Heat with fries. The burgers were available with gluten free rolls, and my wife said it was the best gluten free roll in a restaurant she had ever eaten. No, we didn't get the name of the company that made them. Both burgers were absolutely some of the very best burgers we have ever eaten in a restaurant. We finished the meal by sharing a piece of cheesecake drizzled with chocolate. An excellent finish to a tasty meal. Our server and everyone else we encountered at Up River Grill & Taproom were terrific. We felt that the prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. The bill for two people was $100 with the tip, but the martinis were a substantial portion of the bill! Up River Grill and Taproom is a seasonal operation, open from May through October. If you want to cool off and enjoy a great meal after visiting North Cascades National Park, by all means give this restaurant a try.

We stopped in for lunch both on our way to Mazama and on our way back. The patio and garden are perfect, the pizza, salad and burgers are great and the beers are tasty! It’s exactly what you want when you’re driving through such a beautiful area and need to stop for a bite. Don’t miss it!

What a super rad spot to find, nestled in the middle of the mountains. Fabulous variety of menu options, including pizzas. Full bar, with such a local essence. Absolutely returning to try more on the menu. Also, the outside dining is killer. In the forest! With a wooden sound stage, and plenty of seating. The back opens up with way more tables than you can see from front of house! Great place as an event venue. Highly recommend. The only drawback was the service. Very nice, friendly people, but way understaffed. We barely saw our server.

We love this spot! Their tomato soup and grilled cheese (add bacon and tomato) is so delicious! Wings with bbq sauce, crispy but not overcooked and homemade sauce, 10/10! Sit in the back by the pellet stove to stay warm!! And always wonderful customer service!

Attentive service. Just got a couple appetizers and they came out quickly. Never expected an experience like this upriver. The decor and plants on the patio was world class... Highly recommend.
